Local taken away!
I just found out that a young man from Halsey Oregon was one of the troops killed in Iraq today, his name was Travis Mootheart. My girlfriend new his mom, this is way close to home......... :depressed:

I didnt know Travis persanally, but I feel like it was a loss for us all, I will pass your good wishes on to his mother once its all settled down a bit. I do know one thing for sure, when the funeral comes I will be there one the road with a flag to show his family what he meant to us all!

I believe the service will be tomorrow in Brownsville (?) with a procession, led by a fire engine, around 1:00. It looks as if there is a huge upwelling of support for this young man and his family.

Its horable to hear of BRAVE SOLDIERS dieing in a war we dont fully understand. He died with HONOR and wont be forgotten. GODS SPEED

Best I can tell there is a ceremony in COrvallis this morning for the family, then at around 12:30 they will be moving him over to Brownsville. They will be giving away flags over there and I encourage everyone who can get away to come over and show this community and his family our support. I will be there with about 15 friends from work.

These are the tough stories that make me realize how much I appreciate to have the life I have due to the sacrafice of brave individuals such as Travis...
