Bought Rod, q on it's parts, the little eye hole

So I got an ugly stick for my first rod and was wondering what the extra little eye hole is near the handle that is offset 90 deg from the bigger eye hole things that you put the line through. What is it's purpose? Thanks!

Its to keep your hook and leader that's attached to your reel from straying while you're on the move.
