30 days living on Mc Donalds food
This guy lived on McDonald's for 30 days.
"His liver became toxic, his cholesterol shot up from a low 165 to 230, his libido flagged and he suffered headaches and depression. "
McDonald's new slogan - 'I'm lovin it' - I think not... more like 'Get fat and sick'.

Couldn't tell you the last time I was "loving it" at McDonalds. Haven't eaten there in a LONG time.

Re: 30 days living on Mc Donalds food
From another board's replies...
"There is a lot of BS in this, to bad the post could not see it, free publicity for these guys is just what they wanted. First off it states "Spurlock's girlfriend, Alex Jamieson, was horrified - she's a vegan chef. , Want to bet he is vegan too?"
It's a no brainer that a vegan would not take well to a strict diet of this food much less anyone for that matter. Woulda been interesting to see what his previous diet was.
I'm about as un-vegan as you can get but I can appreciate this story in that I've eaten at McDonald's a few times and afterwards felt like my battery was drained.

Re: 30 days living on Mc Donalds food
I still maintain it is in McDonald's et al.'s best interest to have a fat America. We are all responsible for our own intake, but think about it, who eats more? Your average skinny person, or your average overweight person. I weigh more now than I did 10 years ago, and not surprisingly, I eat more too. My fault, my problem. But there is incentive (happy meals, value meals, bucket o'pop, "do you want to supersize that? it's only 30 cents more?") to get us and keep us as fat as possible.
Heck, it could go further than that. Drug companies make more off sick people than healthy ones, health clubs get memberships from people wanting to lose weight, car makers get to sell bigger, and more expensive, cars, airlines charge more for bigger seats, healthy food costs more than fatty food, even though fatty foods are often more expensive to produce. I tell you, it's a darned conspiracy, a c----o----n------spiracy.

Re: 30 days living on Mc Donalds food
When I was in high school I ate McDonalds for lunch almost every school day. Big Mac, large fries, large coke (not diet). I was in great shape and couldn't gain a pound to save my life.
Of course I played soccer 4 hours every day.
Its all about metabolism.

Re: 30 days living on Mc Donalds food
Actually McDonald's have recently introduced some 'healthier' menu items. It doenst say in that story but if he just ate burgers and fries all the time, then duhhhhh he's going to get sick. A lot of fast food places do have fairly healthy items.......you just have to choose wisely and get things without mayo or cheese.

Hey, we're still responsible for it, but the truth is there is plenty of money to be made from unhealthy fat people.....

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Like higher insurance premiums for all(healthy and unhealty alike)? Not saying this is the sole reason but it's a contributor. :depressed:

Re: 30 days living on Mc Donalds food
His liver was "toxic" huh?
I guess he'd better have it removed. They could keep it in storage along with his brain.
