A new twist on cornbread! WOW!
Our family loves cornbread drizzled with honey and butter.
I got some fresh blueberries at Costco. I had never heard of this, and the first time I added them, I thought. "Hmmm This sounds weird, but, here goes!"
I'll tell you what. EVERYONE in the family is just crazy about it! It is SO good! TRY IT!
Melted butter and a little honey-- Man, oh man! Forget the chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies, give me that cornbread!!!
YUM!
Try it!
Oh yeah, can't wait for huckleberry season! Also, try it with butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. TO DIE FOR!

Oooooh wow, sounds good... here I go to the kitchen at 11:00 pm, making cornbread. Hey Jennie, you're never gonna get over the flu if you're up cooking late at night!!! Unless it's that chocolate cake of course...

Re: A new twist on cornbread! WOW!
No carbs in this!
Now, for breakfast, you just take a piece, split it in two, microwave, add butter and syrup, and you are good to go!

Nuts....here I was planning on frying up some eggs and sausage and then you had to go and post that picture. I've got all the ingredients but will have to resort to frozen blueberries if I'm going down this road.
Thanks Jennie.

Re: A new twist on cornbread! WOW!
On the other end of the cornbread spectrum, you gotta try this, it's absolutely great.
Rory's Most Wonderful Corn Bread
This is a very sweet, delicious, cake - like cornbread
that incorporates broccoli and cottage cheese to produce a
heavenly tasting cornbread. I have tried this recipe on a
number of anti-broccoli children and adults and they all end
up begging me to make more. Prep Time: approx. 10
Minutes. Cook Time: approx. 40 Minutes. Ready in: approx. 50
Minutes. Makes 1 -8x8 inch square pan (12 servings).
Printed from Allrecipes, Submitted by Rory
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 (8 ounce) package dry
cornbread mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup cooked chopped broccoli
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/3 cup butter, melted
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Grease one
8x8 inch square baking pan.
2 Combine the eggs, cornbread mix, cottage cheese,
broccoli, chopped onion, and melted butter or margarine and mix
well. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes.

Re: A new twist on cornbread! WOW!
Used Marie Calendar's corn bread mix, and threw in some frozen blueberries. Oh my, oh my, that was good.
Thanks for the suggestion Jennie.

Re: A new twist on cornbread! WOW!
Jen,
That's just plain mean. I'm sitting here knowing the grazing opportunities in the kitchen are pretty slim, and THEN I see pictures of blueberry cornbread........and talk of huckleberry cornbread.
Yer killin' me!
