Default Kaptain Kangaroo

Kaptain Kangaroo passes away.

I grew up watching the show. Pretty simple compared to todays childrens shows. Sometimes simpler is better.

Yeah it's sad to see the icons of our childhood pass away. I remember the intro music very well and liked Mr. Greenjeans and Grandfather Clock.
First Mr. Rogers and now Captain Kangaroo....chokes me up.

That was a little before my time........was more of a mr rogers/sesame street kid myself. But im sure he made many kids happy....and without the glitz and glam and sex and all the other crap that a lot of 'kids' shows have these days

I remember watching Captain Kangaroo every morning with my Mom. Now they are both gone. Help! I have no roots!

Then, after kindergarten, peanut butter sandwiches and Dick Van **** .

The sounds of my Mother teaching piano lessons, "Apple, apple, chocolate, chocolate..." For those of you who don't know, music rythem used to be taught that way. Apple for eights, chocolate for triplets.

I want a peanut butter sandwich now.

I think I'll miss Mr. Rogers more than the Captain though--despite the fact that I didn't catch mutch of Fred when I was a Kid.
We'll miss you guys.

Others are gone too. Local programming used to have similar shows like Red Dunning, Mr. Moon and Heck Harper. Even late comer Rod Anders is gone.

I wonder if todays kids relate to todays kids programs the way I did to the above old ones?
