Default Apex Anvil question


I just got my vise today and love it but have a question. What is the sping for that is in back of the jaws for? it does not hold any thing.

Use that spring to hold rearward any materials you need to hold out of the way while you do other steps.

For instance, ribbing is usually tied in first. After that step, fold the ribbing back and place it in the spring's coils so it's held out of the way while you dub the body.

It is a material clip to hold fly tying materials out of the way.

For instance, you may tie in some wire to wrap the body after you tie the body. The clip will keep the wire out of the way until you finish dubbing the body and are ready to wrap the wire.
