Newbie Story-Have you ever had this happen?
Just another new guy with a fishing story for a first time post. A couple of years ago in August I was fishing with a buddy and his kid for fall chinook down at Goble. We were anchored on the Washington side of the Columbia using Alvins. We had been fishing about an hour when my rod got hammered and fish on. We drop the hook and proceed to drift down river while fighting the fish. After a couple of good runs we think the fish is ready to net as it calmly comes to the side of the boat. When I tell my buddy to take it with the net, he makes a stab at it and the fish comes flying out of the water and up over the side of the boat right between us about shoulder high. As the fish flew out of the water we both jump back and it lands right in the middle of the boat on the floor. At that instant my buddy throws the net down over the top of it and says "They can jump back out just as easy as they can jump back in!". Anyway, the result was a 15lb up river bright.
