I totally understand it. It was a postmodernist expression of ethical theory that transcends the limits of mere text. The good are badgers who merely want to dance in green fields. The snake represents evil in its natural environment, a vast desert without value. Of course, the green of goodness that the badgers inhabit is equally empty, and therefore devoid of value, even though all the badgers dance. So whether one chooses good, which is a featureless prairee, or evil, which is an empty desert, one is still doomed to a meaningless existence. So much for postmodernism.
