Default Sunday Morning Visitors

Once and a while we have spotted deer in our neighborhood passing through, sometimes even in our backyard. This morning however they came and made themselves at home.

At about 0945 while working in my shop I looked out the window and saw a little toehead looking back at me. I kept an eye on her and she met back up with mom and headed for our backyard. There they settled down for THREE HOURS. Nibbling here and there, laying on the lawn and taking naps.

We live on the end of a deadend street and our backyard is secluded even though we are 4 blocks from downtown. I think they felt hidden and safe out of the sight of passing cars and surrounded by a high hedge.

What a great way to spend the morning watching deer outside your dining room window.

I usually drive through Silverton most nights coming home from work and quite often see deer right in the middle of town! I think they know where every rose bush is! I just got done watching a couple of young yearlings playing around and kicking, what a hoot!

Suprisingly enough they pretty much left our rose bushes alone, but man do they love tomatoe plants.

Oh well, I am getting free fertalizer out of the deal.

Last summer we had a doe running around the housing development and a neighbor video taped it giving birth in her back yard.
