Perch in Silver Lake
Took the kids up to Silver Lake today to try out the perch fishing. We caught dozens until we ran out of worms. I had some crawfish/anise smelly jelly in the boat, so I smeared some on our little plastic jigs, and the fish actually were more aggressive than they had been before. We caught 4 or 5 in the ten to twelve inch range, and dozens smaller. The kids started just jigging them by the side of the boat rather than casting out. They caught quite a few that way. Loads of fun!
