The passing of the Grey Ghost - Update
Well friends my faithful old 1984 Oldsmobile wagon has passed away :depressed:
Driving on Hwy. 30 today I noticed it was pulling to one side pretty severely. Thinking it could be brakes or even road conditions I continued on. When I pulled into a driveway to turn around I heard the horrific sound of grinding metal and it wouldn't go into gear. More grinding metal and smoke from the gear box spelled what is probably the death knell for my old friend as it the repair bill wouldn't make it prudent to repair it.
So any of you wanting to pay your last respects to the old gal she is resting and rusting in peace at Triangle Towing in St. Helens.

Re: The passing of the Grey Ghost - Update
Went back out to St. Helens to see if a miracle might have happened...nope :depressed: Some major "trauma" has occured with the car and it's now destined for the junkyard.
So I'm on foot until something comes along

Don't you know someone who could stick a used tranny in it for you? Do some trading maybe?

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Thought about that but too many other things wrong with it to make an effort. Time to move to something newer.
Paid $1200 for it in 1998 and it's been an excellent ride for 6 years. Very little maintenance on it and it always got me where I needed to go.
Starting to fall apart little by little and so with this current major problem I feel it's time to let her die with dignity

Re: The passing of the Grey Ghost - Update
Sorry about your car troubles Shane, :depressed:
maybe if you walked everywhere and thought of it as a new years resolution to get more exercise Good thing you are on the West side that makes the Wilson a little closer for you than the East siders, of course I am sure you would be fishing the upper reaches of the Wilson on foot Maybe Gales Creek on a good day  or probably Rock Creek

Re: The passing of the Grey Ghost - Update
Bummer Shane. Had the pleasure of parking near her up at Emanuels the night of the Christmas party. Come to think of it, she might have been contagious that night as the tranny in my old ride started slipping a few days afterwards. Dang you Shane
Seriously, hope you find something else that will serve you as well. Maybe Roy still has that old jeep laying around.

Re: The passing of the Grey Ghost - Update
Grey Ghost has been replaced with Grey Ghost II. 1999 Chevrolet Venture LS van.
Color? - Silver/Grey of course.
Anyone who would like the old one it's yours if you want to get it towed away.
