Studded all the way. Can be real slick in places. What part are you fishing?? Great time to fish there.

Agree with the studded suggestion and felt studded are even better on the Trinity. I was wearing rubber Korker last December and slipped, I can attest the water is cold at that time of year.

i was trying to be PC with the rubber studded. i know there's a big movement away from felt. i fish the rogue... and then will be on the trinity during xmas. any chance of transferring an invasive species if i go with felt studs? i do like felt... but wouldn't want to cause any damage to the rivers i fish by wearing it.

i'll be in the lewiston area. renting a cabin up there. from what i've read/heard, i'll have to stick below the bridge. otherwise, anywhere in that area. any suggestions for specific spots?

I have not heard of any invasives species on the Trinity but that rivers sees alot of wading traffic so it could happen. From what I have been told if you go with rubber soles then definitely use studs.

There are a couple of bridges in that area with the water above one closed so it depends where you are talking about. Depending on when in December you can probably stay on the upper river and catch fish. Right now the river is very low and clear and the fish are lower but so are all the fishermen. If we get rain that can change. PM when you get close to your trip and I will let you know what is happening.

I do not have any knowledge of invasive species on the Rogue but I am not that familiar with Oregon Rivers. I seem to recall I read that one of the Universities in Montana is keeping track of invasive species thoughout the west. DFG has information on their website about invasive species. I hope this helps.
