Default Grand Ronde/Wallowa River Steelhead

Does the Wallowa river get the summer steelhead that run up the Grand Ronde? Are these the same steelies that are in the Wallowa during February and March. Just curious. Any help is appreciated.

There is not a winter run of fish on the GR or Wallowa. The fish you catch in February are the same fish that are swimming up the GR on their way to tribs like the Wallowa right now.

For the Grand Ronde and Wallowa rivers most of the fish that run op the GR end up in the Wallowa. a lot of the fish are in the river now and will be available to catch next spring. However there is also a large number of fish that Hold over in the Snake river and won't run up the Grande Ronde until spring.
