Default Sturgeon in Green Peter ??

I know some one who used to live in Sweet Home and they claim there are sturgeon in GP. I say no way, can't convince them since they claim there are people who have seen them. Any comments......

Sturgeon are dumped by bucket bios in almost every body of water. They have even been caught in places like the Canby Pond, and every where else trout are stocked. Maybe its careless ODFW hatchery workers! But I doubt it.

I was fishing at Green Peter one day and a guy on the bank kept going on and on about how everybody calls Atlantic Salmon Kokanee, but they're wrong, yada,yada,yada.................I showed him my fish, and he said, "yep, those are Atlantic Salmon...see that forked tail, that's the key there, buddy, those ain't Kokes!"

He also told me if I had a boat, I could go out on the water and catch MONSTER Atlantic Salmon..., upwards of thirty pounds!!!

He was nice and funny, but he wouldn't know the difference between a Kokanee and an Atlantic Salmon if his life depended on it.

Sorry to hijack...don't know about sturgeon in Green Peter, but I thought you might enjoy the story.

Lived there all my life, fished GP forever and would have to call BS. BS on the atlantics as well. There are also a few guys that will tell you they saw grizzly bears and wolves and happy little unicorns as well. We have a drug problem in those hills

Don't know if it is true or not, but what is the possibilities of sturgeon surviving in these lakes. Out of the reach of sea lions. Would the sturgeon cause damage to other fish or lake habitat? Could be a good C&R fish to have in the lakes.

Go off the dam and anchor up where you do not move. That is hard at 300 feet. and keep bait from rapping around main line with no current unless turbins running. Sounds easy try it.

What type of fish would break 40lb line in 20 min ?

Why do people believe that there is no sturgeon in green peter ?

Exactly! Those are probably the same people that won't believe in Bigfoot until someone catches one.

I heard rumors, then rumors of a pic at Fishermans. So one day Im checking out, and looking through their polaroids... And there it is, a lady holding a sturgeon at the Canby Pond. I will be ready with the camera next time its drained. The monster at Walling Pond was ripping lines and breaking rods for years, before someone targeted it, and brought it in. It was no small fish.
