Make me smile!
I am so blue. :depressed:
I don't understand how the weather can have such an impact on my mood.
I could barely sleep last night, with it snowing. I was SO excited to sled with the kids in the morning. I had the hot chocolate set out and ready, the sleds lined up, mittens and gloves, coats and boots at the door, ready.
I woke up all night, checking. YES! STILL SNOW!
Woke up at 5, and got up... STILL SNOW! YES!
We have about 2 inches. But, now it is raining, and freezing rain, at that.
Bill drove up the driveway, which is our sledding hill, and made tracks, clear to the gravel. He ruined my hill! :depressed:
Now, I can't smile.
Can anyone make me smile?
I'm going to go take a shower, and see if I can sled at all....
I need a joke. I need something funny, happy, and if I don't get it, I'm going to chain up and take the kids to the summit, even if it is dangerous to drive there. I simply MUST sled!!!!
Jen

If it makes you feel better Jennie, I went out and bought my first pack of SEDUCER pink worms specifically because I remembered you said those were the hot ticket!

If this were on the class ads, I'd ask for this thread to be deleted.

Fisherlady, I DID JUST THAT!
I SLEDDED!!!!
I sledded so dang fast that Kilchis couldn't keep up with me! THAT WAS SCARRRRRRRRRRRY!!!!
I couldn't help but laugh, and hard! I nearly went over a cliff! Man, you don't even have to climb all the way up. In fact, I wouldn't dare! Half way up the hill, and you go down and SHEESH! I was going over 55 mph, I promise!
And it won't stop! I went clear through the yard, and nearly into the river! LOL!!!
I gotta get back out there. Just woke up the kids. On with the hot chocolate! When you have lemons, make lemonaid! When you have freezing rain, get out the sled!

Re: Make me smile!
Jennie,
Your excitement just gave me a BIG smile....If it were warmer here I would slap a harness on one of my dogs and get a free pull...however, it is a bit too cold for me. You have fun while the snow is here!

Re: Make me smile!
That is hilarious jennie, i remember one time back in Pennsylvania where i grew up ,we got about ten inches of snow and then it turned to rain and froze causing a sheet of ice on top of the snow, so me and my brother my uncle my dad and a friend thought we would get out the five man taboggin and tackle this big hill on my uncles farm , we probably didn't get but 20 feet and we were going so fast it would of taken us a mile to stop  , needless to say one at a time we started jumping off the death machine "the solid wooden kind of taboggin" Other than some scrapes and bruises from crashing through the ice we faired ok. The taboggin continued so fast it truley cut a 3" diameter tree in half when it entered the woods. To this day we lauph and lauph about that day and how close we came to dying.

Re: Make me smile!
Toboggan's?!?! Oh no!
One time up in Fairbanks a bunch of us got hold of a togoggan and hauled it out to the Birch Hill Cemetary. The snow was deep enough to cover the headstones and we were poised to be the first ever to try the pristine conditions with a sled all five or six of us could ride at once.
We picked up speed so fast none of us even thought about bailing off, and when we got to the highway at the bottom we must have been going 50. We skittered out on to the highway, passed a pickup like it was standing still, and flew off the other bank down into the trees. We finally hit a tree or fencepost or something and stopped. Abruptly. The guy in front, steering, (you can't steer a toboggan) broke his arm, but the family in the pickup we just passed stopped and helped us. The toboggan was destroyed, and no one ever made any attempt to repair it.
I'm still in trouble with my mom over that one.
Uh... did I ever tell you about the times we used to sled on the roads at night?

Re: Make me smile!
I must not be insane because I only got a bit of a smile....however, just thinking of Jennie swooshing FAST down the hill is still giving me a wide side to side grin. I shall be tickled for the rest of the day....Thank you, Jennie for giving me a good lift too!
