The gate is closed, so it is a long walk (half-mile or so, if you know your way)...maybe not good if your back just went out. They stocked it with 1200 fish just before the kid's fishing event at the beginning of October (I saw them stock it, very cool, my kid and I had never seen that before). And I heard they stocked it again recently. All the trout were stocked into Pond #6.
People duck hunt there. That said, I have only spoken to a few people who were hunting, but every time, they have been much more worried about shooting me than I was about getting shot.
I would fish there anytime, and I think the trout fishing might be decent now.
