Default Re: Panasonic???

I have been surprised of late with my disappointment in panisonic. I bought one of their TV's about 8 years ago because the picture was sooo good. I bought a second panisonic TV for my son's bed room 4 years ago, followed by a third for a vacation home two years ago. In all cases, the picture looks just great. However, the primary set I have at home plus my vacation set are now both acting up, exactly in the same way. The picture starts to flicker, then goes black. I can switch them off and back on again and it clears the problem up for a while. When it does clear up, I again get a great picture. But still, this is crap! While I can accept (with reluctance) an 8 year old set giving you a bit of grief, but not the 2 year old set. I also have a wireless home telephone of theirs that no longer displays the caller ID, and it is less than a year old.

so, I tend to agree with you. I used to really like their products (as evidenced by how many I have purchased), but I think I've bought the last product of their's I'll even own.

I have a Panasonic TV, VCR and DVD player. Cant say that I've had many problems with them. The TV is a bit glitchy, but my wife banged it HARD one day a while back...so that may be the cause. Just as well though...will give me a good excuse to switch to flat panel some day.

Consumer Reports keeps on reporting that Panasonic products, especially their A-V products, are a "best buy" based on the independent feedback of thousands of consumers.

I've have OK luck with their products, except for one cordless phone that quit after a year. I like their TV's, and for some reason most of the trucks I drive at work have Panasonic stereos. Most of them are at least 10 years old and still take an incredible amount of abuse.
I'm starting to lose faith in Sony products, though. :depressed:

Default Panasonic???

I've never been on this Forum, but I just have to vent. Have any of you ever had good luck with Panasonic products? I mean almost anything in Panasonic?

I just threw away my last Panasonic product!!

The VCR worked for 1 month and broke! I can't tell you how many times Panasonic products have let me down.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem or am I just being picked on by the "Panasonic Virus"?
