Absent Avatars

I have noticed lately that there are a lot more avatars with image errors - including my own. Any idea what gives here?

I'm just throwing a guess out here, but I think when Jen cleans out the picture uploads, that they get punged from the system. So in effect, it's trying to display a picture that's no longer uploaded to the server. Just my guess.... Am I on the right track here Jen?
