Um, yeah, uh snow
Well how about that? It snowed. And snowed. And snowed some more. We topped out at 7" in Tigard. I finally got to put the truck into 4 wheel drive today.
Ya know, the times the weather folks are all over it, it doesn't happen. When they don't see it coming, we get pounded with it.

Re: Um, yeah, uh snow
I'm convinced the local weather people couldn't forecast yesterday's weather correctly

Re: Um, yeah, uh snow
Took this picture of my deck about 15 minutes ago...that pale green object in the foreground is a 12" clear plastic ruler with only 2" showing above the snow...and it is still falling fast. My house is at ~1000' on a ridge on the east side of the coast range, SW of Junction City.
Think I'll wait a while before going into town...or over to the Siuslaw, as I was thinking about last night.

Re: Um, yeah, uh snow
Control Tower......
Hello, yeah, this is Big Airline Operations, I hear the airport is closed.....
Well sir, braking action is reportd as poor on the south runway with a 2" accumulation of snow so we are plowing it as fast as we can.
Ok, what about the north runway?
North runway also has 2" of snow. It is open for use but arrivals need 1 mile visibility to shoot the approach and our current weather reports the vis as 1/4 mile.
So you are closed?
No, we are open, just below minimums and plowing as fast as we can.
Control Tower.......
Hello, yeah, this is Other Big Airlines, we hear you are closed.......
AD INFINITUM!
Airports don't like snow.
