Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
The snow is nice, but only up in the mountains. I used to live in Government Camp and Bend, so you kinda get sick of it.

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
I got enough of snow walking to the bus stop as a kid. We lived off exit 224 on I84. 3300 feet. I literally walked a mile to the bus stop, up hill both ways, in 20 below weather, more days than I can count. At least without taking my mittens off.
I prefer rain.

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
I think that story goes, "When I was a kid... I walked barefoot in the snow 20 miles to school..."
At least, that's the way I heard it...

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
Uphill both ways
Our house is in the lower right corner, right near the number 3290. We walked across the draw to the crossroads (in the center) to meet the bus. Uphill, both ways. A mile, if you measure it. No kidding. Yes, my kids are sick to death of hearing about it.
And then there was the time I was mauled by a bear.
Happy New Year to everyone.

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
Oh, that's a good deal. Growing up in what is probably the worst weather pocket in the state. Good ol' Cabbage Hill.
I hear some truck drivers refer to it as "Lettuce" Hill. As in "Lettuce get to the bottom of this S.O.B. as soon as we can!"

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
Tee hee... Barefoot, though?
My kids have to climb up the driveway to catch the school bus. Does that count?
It's snowing here in Tillamook!

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
It's a good thing you didn't say you hated the snow.
From now on, anyone who hates the snow will be disabled from ifish.
That's a joke. Sort of.

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
OOOHHH, you think you had it bad? when I grew up the snow would drift 4 feet deep and we had to walk three miles each way and, and, WE WE were sOOO poor we didn't even have FEET! I tell ya', it was bad.
I've had enough of the snow for this year. On of the finest things about this part of Oregon is the warm (40-50Dg) winter rains, and the smells of the forest.
Maybe we could all load up our trucks with snow from our yards and drive down to Jennies and spread it around HER yard, what do think??
Smj
Love the three lunches thing DAB, I'll have to remember that one!

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
One of the best things about tons of snow on the pass, is that I get the Wilson ALL TO MYSELF!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
Let's see, shoveled 6" yesterday afternoon, another 6" this morning, and by the time I left for work there was another 1/2" on the ground. I know we need it but it would be nice a little more spread out. Oh yeah, the city gets a big fat "F" for snow removal on the streets, my truck has been in 4 X 4 for a week. And it's a flat city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya James,
We have had 2 feet of snow in the past 5 days. I am ready for a break from the snow shovel and snow blower.

Re: Confession: I\'m Bi Snowlar
You had it easy...
When I was a kid... why we had 10 miles to school, in 6 feet of snow, up hill, both ways. Taking turns beating off the bears with our rules and digging the path out with our looseleaf notebooks.
...and we were thankful.
