Re: FYI...prime rib sale
I just dropped everything, grabbed the money out of the cookie jar, and headed to my local (Gresham) Winco, hoping to come back with a pickup load of juicy, tender prime rib roasts.
But alas, it was still the same price as last week 3.88 /lb.
Bummer for us in Gresham. :depressed:
Thanks for the heads up, anyways!

Re: FYI...prime rib sale
Boatdog - yup! My wife just called me from there - same story. What's up with that? Winco must be having preferencial pricing for ceratin locations, huh? Oh, well, guess I'll have to settle for the ol' ground round for now.

Re: FYI...prime rib sale
The $1.98 must have been for that special "Mad Cow" brand.

Re: FYI...prime rib sale
Apparently, it was just for the meat dated "Sell by 12/30", they had a bunch left over at the Mac Winco.
Sorry if I got anyone too excited!!
Besides, with all the countries banning importation of our beef, we may be seeing REALLY cheap prices for the next few years.

FYI...prime rib sale
Just got back from 2 trips to Winco. They're selling out their leftover holiday prime rib for $1.98 per pound!
Bought almost 40 lbs of it, cut up some into rib steak....mmmmmmm!!

Re: FYI...prime rib sale
Thanks for the headsup TR!! My wife's out shopping today...when I saw your post, I called her on her cell and politely requested that she not come home without at least 20 pounds!! We had some yesterday and a couple days before - cooked up in the rotisserie
Happy New Year!

Re: FYI...prime rib sale
Beef is cheap up North! You cant touch prime rib for less than $5 per pound down here! I was at Costco today: $4.99 for tri tip, $14.99 for filet. If the mad cow scares the filet down to $5 or $6 per pound, the BBQ is at my house for anyone willing to drive here!
