Our family has a tradition of renting a beach house, condo, etc. at Christmas...each year in a new location...although we may go back to this year's place again.
We were at Cannon Beach and had suites #1 & #2 at the Ecola Inn, one of the oldest in the Cannon Beach area...today's rules, regulations (and perhaps common sense) would never allow building so close to the surf. But, until the next Tsunami hits, its a great place!
The photo shows our view from the living room looking to the south...Haystack Rock. There is also a great view to the north of an old lighthouse on an offshore rock as well as several other seastacks. High tide was a 10.2' yesterday and the highest waves came up on the beach to where the girl & dog are in the photo...and swept into the little creek in the foreground.

Weather yesterday was blustery with periods of heavy rain, hail...and sunshine.
Our family had a good Christmas...I hope yours did too.
