Default Vinyl Wrap (not just for boats)

Thought I would let you all know that Brad (GreenButtSkunk) is good for more than just boats. I have had a magnetic bra on my street bike for years that constantly captured dirt and grime against the paint. I had to pull it off each time and wash both sides before sticking it back on the shiny black paint.

Now, all I do is wash the bike. No more pockets or magnets to trap grit against the paint.

Now I am watching the paint chip patterns on our Dodge 3500 dually to see where to have Brad apply vinyl for protection. I am getting a bit tired of painting out the chips in the paint.

I used to have to paint out rock chips in the boat nearly every time I washed it. The same boat with vinyl needs almost zero maintenance to maintain a beautiful finish.

ONE RISK with vinyl... If your boat pukes gas out the vent hole on a hot day and you do not get back to it for a week it makes a terrible bubbly mess of the vinyl. I managed to get ours stuck back down with a veterinary hypodermic needle and some careful elbow grease but it is best to keep gas off the vinyl or clean it up quickly if fuel is spilled on it. Sharkhide is impacted similarly but much easier to clean up by just applying a new coat. This is an area in which paint is most robust. I am careful not to park the boat with a full tank of fuel any more.

hey Richard,
glad the vinyl is helping protect that bike of yours. Yep, spilled gas, left on any kind of vinyl surface will do its share of damage if not dealt with soon.
It's usually more of a problem in the hot summer months when vents overflow from pressure. Lets get that truck taken care of this winter.
Call me and I'll get it into my shop.

Oh,BTW, nice buck your wife bagged. She'll out hunt you, so look out!

Brad,
I just got back from the storage unit. As always, the boat vinyl looks great. No more problems from the fuel spillage issue this summer.

I am looking forward to giving you the Dodge after elk season for a lower protective stripe. I think I will bring you the camper at the same time. The rock chips in the paint combined with road deicer is making a rusty mess of the painted jacks on the camper. I should have brought it to you when it was still new and I wouldn't be dealing with it now.

A buddy just advised me of another important use for your skills. My father just purchased a new GMC 1 ton with a sun roof. Apparently, rocks have a tendency to bounce of the camper and wipe out sun roofs. BUT... 2 layers of clear plastic protection (like the type you use) is enough to let the rocks glance off without smashing the glass. I have advised my father to contact you for the application.

I am still looking for my buck but don't regret passing on a few so my wife could drop her first. I am really proud of the effort she put into hand loading, training, target practicing, scouting, sneaking, equipment prep, etc. to make a perfect shot on a nice buck. He is steaks in the freezer now.
