Default fuel/water seperator plumbing?

Gonna plumb my  new troller  to the main tank.
The fuel/water seperator has 4 inlets/outlets?
Presently the unit is plumbed on the same side...gas tank and main motor both on the same side. Which of the two orfices on the other side do I use, with a check valve, to plumb my troller?
I would have thought that the fuel lines would go in one side and out the other...Maybe its not hooked up right now?

On mine, there are arrows pointing in(2) and outflow(2).I guess the other in is for an additional tank.Mine is capped.I hope they are all the same as there is an inlet and an outlet on each side on mine.Hope this helps. The inlets are in line with each other.I guess if you hook it up to the wrong one it just won't work and you switch it and it will.

If your tank has a second tap then it might be better to go from there and install another filter assembly. My $.02

Didn't know about the arrows...thats good. Maybe I'll take the whole thing out to where I can see it to look for those marks.
Thanx

My Merc mechanic said it doesn't matter which "side" you use, as long as the main line from the fuel tank goes "in" to the fuel/water seperator and then the "outs" can be used from either side. FYI, I have both my main tank and my kicker using the same seperator.

My main motor is fed from one of the outs and my kicker is fed from the other out. They work just fine.
