Lost our black lab today
This afternoon, we had our black lab sneak out of our yard.
Holly is a 60 # black lab mix. Wearing a silver chain. NO COLLAR.
We live in the Felida/Lakeshore area in NW Vancouver.

Holly has a chip....but the damn collar was taken off when momma washed her. That had vital numbers on it!

BU would you mind giving a cross street or two to start at I have the day off and will be able to look around. Looked around this morning from 21st west to lakeshore around the school and up to 119th

FHS Willamette, here on ifish, found a Craigslist post about a Found Black Lab.
FHS Willamette emailed me the info and I called:
Two kids dropped them off at this couple's house last night thinking that they were the owners. They said they would take care of it since the kids couldn't.
The kids came back just an hour ago....said they found the owner....  huh?
DAMMIT
My wife and the couple will connect tonight to trace the kids down!! 
I'm stuck in Mac working tonight.

Any word yet?
My hopes and prayers are with you. I have a black lab that loves to go visit the neighbors whenever he gets out too. Then he gets lost and can't find his way back. We have spent a bit of time worrying and hunting for him. We have been lucky and he has always returned home, my hope is that yours will too.

Good news is that since your dog has a chip (and I am going to assume you have the chip registered) all your vital statistics for locating you should be on file with the company you have her chip registered with. The other good thing is that all vets and shelters are supposed to scan all strays brought in for a chip.
I guess what I am saying is that since she is chipped not having her collar on May not be a totally bad thing.
For those that find a dog loose, you can take it to a vet and most will scan the dog free of charge to help locate the lost owner.

At 7:37 PST, we were watching my Yanks on TV. We heard a scratch on the door. It was our girl! Who knows how she got back...drop off? Dog's nose in gear for home?
