Default Found some B-runs (Coho)

Went to a stream that many have been plying and found a little piece off to myself. Found some of the deeper water that has been a little off color due to the rain and started nymphing a #8 Black Widow through the hole. Second cast got me a ketchup colored buck. After about 10 more minutes. Fish started rolling through the hle like crazy. I could see that it was a nice run that had just moved in. As soon as my fly got about 3 feet down I got hammered by this young lady.(sorry, phone camera quality)

After landing her I hooked 4 more before they moved out. They hammered everything that went through. SUPER aggressive. Nice to see for once. She measured out at 32 3/4 inches. Still had the sea lice dimples on her.

Good action!

Do you have to use heavy heads, or sink tip, or floating line, in those runs?

Good job! Been finding a few myself although I've only managed to put one on the bank. Hooking them hasn't been a problem, landing them however...

I'm not familiar with a Black Widow pattern. Anyone have a link to a picture or description? Is it similar to a chartreuse egg pattern with a long hackle tied at the head?

Thanks.

Mike

Cool Re: Found some B-runs (Coho)

Great to see someone is finding some fresh fish.

I actually saw some Coho spawning this week!

The Black Widow is an all black soft hackle.
