Help !TV Cable and Cable Modem from One Jack

I have Comcast High Speed cable for the internet and Comcast TV cable. Has anyone tried to run a splitter from the one jack to run both at the same time? I tried it, my TV worked but my internet did not. I tried reseting my cable modem and that did not work either. Anyone know?

They use a dedicated cable marked HSD for the cable internet, I believe. I don't think you can do both.

just a possibility... leave the cable modem where it's at and extend the ethernet cable from the back of the modem to the network inteface card on your pc. Using cat 5 cable and good terminations...

We are running high speed cable internet, comcast cable on seperate tvs, and a cable phone. They all work great. You can be on different tv channels, surf the web, and talk on the phone ---- all at the same time with no detectable loss in quality.

Mine comes in from the same jack into a splitter. The TV side has some kind of adapter adapter marked "ARCOM WHP 5/13". The internet side is just coax. The splitter looks like a garden variety splitter. PM me if you'd like a digital picture of the setup.

BTW, I've got to think any radio shack would be able to solve this pretty quickly.
