Anyone with any personal experience with the top speed you can expect to attain with the Merc 240EFI Sport Jet in this type boat?

I could do 50mph (on the GPS) on still water with my 175SJ. This is in a 21ft Weldcraft and it was before a good part of the McKenzie, Santiam and Willamette River bottoms went through the pump.

Not to mention sand from different bay bottoms being sucked through the pump as well.

Now about all I get is 40 or maybe 42 out of it. But I almost never run it that hard because of the gas it gulps.
Long story short, I know the impellor needs to be rebuilt and the wear ring replaced. Once that's done I'm confident my boat can do 50mph again.
You should be able to do 50 or a scosh more with your 240, depending on your load.
Oh, and since it's your first post you gotta tell a little introductory story. Otherwise you'll never hear the end of it.
