Default Quick D Report

Floated/fished from Nena down to Maupin this morning. Caught one nate right off the bat close to Nena and that was it for me. Water was great especially in the face through box car. Standard dry line spey stuff.... Not as crowded as two weeks ago. Oh yea, saw one guy nymphing at Harpman land a hatchery fish. Great weather for a toon float.

joined two buddies around nena today. they fished there yesterday and managed one a piece. Today we didn't even get one pull. Saw 12 steelhead roll in the morning. Saw one fish caught near harpham. water is clear as can be...water level must still have the bite off.

we went 5 for eight Sat & Sun. scratch fishing. Water level has the fish off the bite. All fish came to dry line flies. Didn't catch a fish on a tip all weekend.

Took a buddy down below Mac's friday through sunday. He discovered his reel with his floating line was messed up so he had to fish a tip all 3 days and he was hot!!!!.Every run i put him in he hooked up and nice sized fish. I fished a floating line and caught fish but he out fished me very easily.
Friday was a little slow which might be becouse of the water flows but Saturday and Sunday were very good.

I was working on the access road today. Saw a handfull caught at the falls and two caught in the blue hole area. Fished in the evenings last week and only managed one a night. Cool temps/ water bump slowed things down for sure.

That is so perfect for the Deschutes and the float / sink tip debate....

I just got back yesterday, Pine Tree to the mouth. Launched on the 20th. Water was very clear and 52 degrees. Nothing until the evening of the 21st then it was good through the morning of the 22nd but catching was hot. After that I couldn't get anything to bite. Water was up a bit but steady. Nice overcast days and a bit of rain. Wasn't too cold. Not that many people on the river, had it to myself for long periods of time. The fish I did catch were bigger than a few weeks ago.

Anyone fished Hot Rocks? No one was there so I gave it a try below camp. Are you supposed to get out on the reef?
