Default Holy Hurricane Batman!

Okay...now all I have to wait for is one of the giant Douglas Firs in my back yard to come crashing down. My yard is littered with most of the branches from them, so I figure the rest of the tree will want to join the branches on the ground!

One man's poison is another man's perfume (or sumpthin like that). When I see a weather report like that I clap my hands together and think, "Ducks!"

If you go hunting with me you won't even be home when it falls.

We are getting hit hard up north of you guys in washington. I live in the eastern part of king County gusts up to 80 mph so far. Power has been out as of 4:45 am this morning. No problems down here at work near seattle . I know what I will be doing this weekend burning branches the yard looked like a disaster zone this morning. They are advising people to stay in their houses and not travel any of the roads untill it is over. I am thinking this is going to be along commute home with no street lights for 16 miles.

It's amazing how flexible those big guys are!

We had one break in half back in '95, when the ice storm was followed by a wind storm. This was just before the great flood. Ah, what a winter that was!

I heard "crack, crack, SNAP!" - looked up out the window and saw a tree coming out of the sky, then CRUNCH went the back deck. We were lucky, it missed the house by about this much: [ ]

Skein...don't think the ducks didn't cross my mind at about 230am this morning when I woke to the wind blowing. But my wife mumbled something about "NO WAY" and "you have to get the kids on the bus" and "don't you have to work!?!"

LS that's my biggest fear. We have about 9 large doug firs (70'+) on our little 10K square foot piece of paradise. Being at the mouth of the gorge and about 600 feet up on the east side, we get beat when the wind blows like this. I have one tree that would fall on the house and 2 that would fall on our neighbors house.
