Default Crappie silver

Hit silver lake monday at about 3pm. Took my buddie out for the first time and we both prob caught easly 100 crappie a peace. It was nice to sit back and have some fun. He had a blast even tho it was chilli, but when ur reelin fish in it seems to counter the cold. i might go this weekend for bass up there. The bad thing is that the water has already reached low 50's. So fishin will be different than a few weeks ago. Plastics and spinners possibly. If not I will slay some more crappie. hopefully the larger ones will be about. We averaged 4-8in. Some were keepers but did not keep any. Also one good thing is that the blue green algea should die soon. Well see out there.

I have heard a lot about crappie fishing in Silver. I should give it a try sometime.

Crankbaits work well this time of year at that water temp. Try a lipless one.

I have spent alot of time on that lake and never hit a bass with a crank. And i have thrown them so many times i gave up. hmmm never tryed a stiko dynamo with treble hooks attached. That catches anything.

Crank baits on silver it's all about location and you must have a blue back bandit on your line look at my map for rocks and that is the spot to start!!!!

Well, roger i have that same crank bait and have thrown it everywhere and yet to get a strike on it. guess u need to just show me how its done lol. I hit silver sat around 3pm to dark and ended up with about 350 crappie and 5 that were keepers. It was a blast every cast. hopfully the bigger ones will be active soon.
