Lifes little pleasures
What are they for you? What simple little things make you feel happy?
A well cast fly
My wife holding my hand
A good book
A nice fire on a cold winter day
Laughing with my kids
Good cigars (Thanks Robert)
Autumn leaves
The kindness of a stranger
There are many more I'm sure
Okay then, how about some of you?

Re: Lifes little pleasures
Talking to my son on his birthday
Holding a new grandchild
A kiss from my mate
Watching a sunrise
Watching a sunset
A hot fire in my fireplace
Building a new home
Working on my boat
Seeing tuna on the line
Catching tuna
Tuna doing the dance on the deck

Re: Lifes little pleasures
The awkward anticipation of that 1st kiss.
The feeling of belonging that only family and close friends can provide.
The ability to protect and provide for ones family.
Baby animals (including humans).
BBQs out on the back porch.
Dancin' like nobody's lookin'.
Road trips.
Good food.
Volunteering ones time for worthy cause.
Seeing the sparkle and wonderment in a childs eyes.
The feeling of being in love with someone.
Boy! I'm a sappy one today! Huh?

Re: Lifes little pleasures
Hugging and snuggling with my kids.
Sunrises.
Birds in the back yard.
A perfect cast, landing three inches form shore, that is immediately pounded.
Calling the fish. "Right next to that rock, let it sit there... There!"

Re: Lifes little pleasures
Singing along at the top of my lungs to a classic rock song while driving through the country on the way to (or back from) the river.
Dawn.
Seeing my girlfriend make a long fly cast and then yell to me "Did you see THAT one!?"
A Prairie Home Companion.
Dim, smoky bar with a good jukebox.
Watching Baseball.
Seeing the fish approach, and the take.

Relaxing in a hot tub with my wife
Listening to my daughter laugh
Watching the snow fall

Re: Lifes little pleasures
Silver Hilton, you could just be right. Man I am reading these posts and am overcome by the increasing estrongen levels.
Nawh, just messing with ya. Tickling the daylights out of my 4 year old and he keeps coming back for more. It's so funny to watch. Then his 11 year old brother decides he wants to help rescue the tormented one. Guess what? Slam, he gets nailed too! Pretty soon the 15 year old daughter just cant take it and is upstairs checking it out. Turns out she wants some attention too. Just love it when that happens. Kids screaming bloody murder with joy and excitment and huge smiles.
Simple pleasures. You bet. Nothing like kids meeting you at the door when you come home. Hugs, kisses and "how your day dad?" Priceless.
Thanks Stew.

My wife
My daughter
Being free
Sitting in a grove of old growth with no one in sight
Napping in the boat anchored up

Re: Lifes little pleasures
Getting out of bed without hurting.
No back pain.
Breathing freely.
Seeing clearly.
Hearing clearly.
...though those things don't happen often, I am always so very happy when they don't. Somehow I tend to forget how nice it is; that is until they happen again.
Mostly... every single moment I get to spend with my wife.
