Default Embarcadero Resort, Newport??

We used to have Thanksgiving there when I was a kid (and logging was king), spend a few days with the family, etc. Now, got a 10 year anniversary coming up, probably should do something special

Anyone stayed there recently?? Still a high class establishment, or has it gone downhill?

I've stayed there twice in the last 2 years or so. Seemed perfectly nice to me. Off season rates were pretty reasonable too.

Stayed there about 5 years ago. Seemed OK, but I was in a privately owned condo so I couldn't tell you what the rates were.
A couple of years ago I stayed at the new place right next door (to the west) and it was really nice, and reasonable too. Don't remember the name (The Landing sounds familiar) but it was a similar setup the The Embarcadero.

Unless it's changed, it was a "dump" for the price a few years ago. The Newport Shilo was/is much better.

I stayed there in June. We had 4 two-bedroom condo's for the family and they were fine. The restaurant is expensive for dinner, but it was good.

They aren't new by any means, but they are well kept. I like the Shilo too, but it is a motel, not a condo. Embarcadero has a full kitchen, jacuzzi tubs and outside decks. You can't beat the view.

It's right next door to England Marine too.
