Cumulative Case of the Willies
I just turned on the gory news (channel 12) and saw that a child molester was just sentenced to 23? years in prison for molesting an autistic daughter of his then girlfriend. His name is David Liston. When he was a teenager he spent many, many, many hours in my house. He was a friend of my son’s. We are all so disgusted. I think I need an exterminator even if it was 13-14 years ago. It is all just too weird and close to home. :depressed:

Re: Cumulative Case of the Willies
Oh, STG... That is horrible. How do you get rid of the feelings?
Ish.
I'm so sorry... for all involved.

Re: Cumulative Case of the Willies
STG,
Sorry for the news. It is rather wierd to have that sort of thing so close to home.
On a similar note, I knew one of the young boys that sexually assalted the woman in Oaks Bottom Park and then stole and torched her car. I hired his mother a few years ago and he would drop into the office and I spent time with him at holiday and summer parties.
We never really know what is in the minds and hearts of other people.

Re: Cumulative Case of the Willies
I am afraid that the scum factor in our communities is far bigger than I used to think.
I have had two cousins murdered in Spokane...both law abiding citizens, not low lifes....one a cop killed doing a raid on a drug and weapons house, the other a cab driver, killed by a fareperson, who then torched the cab with the driver in it.
Unfortunately I have also had three friends over the years who lost a relative to a murderer...again, all were innocent victims, not the kind to be in the midst of trouble or illegal activities.
I am afraid that kids are not as safe as they (hopefully) used to be...and molestations of children, violence against women is a very prevalent problem nowadays..and the perpetrators do not necessarily look the "type. I hate to bring this up, but it is true that most children who are molested are violated by someone that the family thought they well. I am sorry you even had to read that article about your son's exfriend... :depressed:
These violent incidents are a reminder to us all...when a driver cuts you off, or a fisher person shows poor manners on the river...ignore them and shrug it off...it is not worth the risk of an enraged nuthead to get po'd...nor is it worth the rise in your own blood pressure to let a meaningless thoughtless act ruin your day, or your life.
Take care, and stay cool...
M.

Pretty creepy feeling, but at least that guy is put away. I went to high school in the '50s with another one who was also put away.
With three young grandchildren I worry about the slimers who are still out there.

Re: Cumulative Case of the Willies
I guess this goes to show that we always need to be on our guard. It is really creepy. I personally think that there are few who do not know in some way a person like this, and are unaware. My brother's Boy Scout leader was jailed for molesting some of the scouts. He never had a clue, and was totally devastated when he found out.
