Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
My wife and I are wondering if there is a good place in Tillamook to stay overnight. We are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary next weekend and decided on Tillamook. I would like a jacuzzi in the room, but we are willing to stay just about anywhere.
Any suggestions?
We were going to take a trip, but couldn't decide where to go.
Hawaii: Too touristy.
Alaska: Been there
Vancouver BC: There too.
Seattle: Too many people.
California: Fires, floods, what next famine?
Mexico: Nah.
So, we looked at each other and in one of those Marriage moments, said "Tillamook" at the same time.
I want to go for the cheese. She wants to go for the ice cream.
God I love my wife.
Oh and did I mention? She doesn't like jewelry either!
Got a keeper here!
Thanks for any and all advice.

Re: Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
The Shiloh Inn is probably the nicest Hotel in Tillamook.
However, I'd steer you towards Oceanside, which is about 8 miles West of Tillamook on Highway 131- just past Netarts. There are several quaint hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. There is one in particular- the name is something like "House on the hill", or something close to that. Also, the very best eating establishment in Tillamook County is there. Its called "Rosannas".

Whatever you do, wherever you stay, DO eat at Rosannas! It's SO good!!!
I'd say, probably the best restaurant on the entire Oregon Coast!

Re: Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
I found a place called the Terimoore in Netarts. Nothing fancy and kind of rustic, just like I like. Great winter rates and some units have kitchen and fireplace and a great view of the Netarts bay.
(They have a web sight) I went down for my Birthday with my girlfriend in November and brought the boat along and
we crabbed and ate fresh crab that night and had a very romantic weekend. Just a few mintues drive to Tillamook. I have been to all the places you listed and more and prefer the likes of Netarts bay myself. Have fun. Life is way to short not too.

Re: Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
If a hot tub in the room is a must have, I cannot think of any in the Tillamook area. However, there is a nice hotel on Nehalem Bay at Wheeler that has rooms with hot tubs. I think they have a special room next to the bay with a hot tub.
The web address is http://www.wheeleronthebay.com/index.shtml
I rent kayaks from them, get dropped off up river and float down, great people.

Re: Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
Why hasn't anybody mentioned the place where Arnold and his "sister" stayed in the movie "kindergarden cop"??
Actually, if you dont mind spending a few bucks you might want to consider the columbia gorge hotel..( I know it's not in tillamook)..not too many places can beat it for romance.

Re: Tillamook hotel options for anniversary
There is a place called the starfish between newport and lincoln city, we stayed there once. Very nice and quiet overlooking the ocean. Large rooms with a loft bedroom with a very large jacuzzi bath in the loft area, close enouph to where you could almost jump into bed from it or back and forth  , Heck it is your anniversary right ,time to party Cost us about 100 bucks i think at the time winter rates. They have a kitchen , pots and pans, dishes, fridge, tv,vcr pretty much all you need. it was built to be condos and they turned it into a hotel or inn , something like that.
