Default Charter Schools not meeting standards...

It seems the Charter School idea may not hold the answer many, myself included, were hoping they would.

The NCLB criteria would undermine the idea of utilizing retired and non-certified teachers, which was one cost saving measure we were intending to use in the Charter proposal I was involved with........

Stray~ Your thinking has gone astray...right when you were making progress...let's be objective for a moment...

Comparing apples to apples what are the results? Comparing resources spent per student what are the results?

Public schools have had a very longtime to refine their processes. There are far more success stories happening and when compared apples to apples and $$ for $$, they (and private schools) are making public education look silly.

You want real improvement...then let the free market decide.....it drives innovation, quality and efficiency....we have tried more $$, CIM/CAM and a host of new standards...let's face it...public education is in crisis because of gross mismanagement by our political and school leaders.

ES,

My thinking has been to read the article and comment on it's content. I did not write the article.

Also, I have to laugh when you say to compare apples and apples and attempt to apply that to comparing regular public schools to charter or private schools. There is very, very little apples to apples comparison that can be made between very differnt institutions such as these.
