Just ordered TR-1!
Finally bit the bullet and ordered one today from Pete Frederick. Going to take a look at the install intstructions when I get it and see if it's something I can do. They only want $250 to do it, but Pete says it's pretty easy.Anyone installed their own and have any comments?

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
installed mine last summer. took my time and followed the instructions. very good. had no problems with the install. pete will answer any questions you have. after installing it yourself, if you do have a problem, you will be familiar with the system.

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
I installed mine ona 21'N.River MULE,,, It was very easy, great instructions step by step, with drill diagrams and Pete or the staff is justa phone call away with any questions..If you can run a drill, screw driver & few small end wrenches. Just think about where to mount the compass ball to insure yur cable is long enough, an NOT near any speakers, radio's or windsheild wiper motors. Make sure you let them know what kicker motor you have also! Slick install* Just dont do any shortcuts its well thought out!..any questions shoot mea email!

Looked pretty simple to me, as long as you have the right tools.

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
Joe thats awesome that you decided to get it. After fishing on Shane's boat for URB I think it's definately worth it. I'll get one the day I get a big boat.
Congrats

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
Yeah - that was me Webdog. Had XTC with me too. I wouldn't have been trolling if my big motor wouldn't have seized up (mechanic forgot to put gear lube in the lower unit!) Had to use the kicker to get back to Scappoose Bay so we thought we might as well wet a few spinners! I'll wave next time - I fish there a lot since I live about a mile from the boat launch. See you on the river.

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
I installed mine a couple of weeks ago. Easy to install, instructions are actually really good (make sure you read all the instructions first, I found things in one spot that weren't in another). It took me about 6-8 hours to install and a lot of that time was trying to figure out where I wanted to mount everything and routing the wires to making it look really nice.
If you can use a screw driver and a drill you should be able to install it with no problem.
Setup was also pretty easy, instructions for this were good too.
Besides, there is nothing like getting the box from the UPS guy!!!!!

Re: Just ordered TR-1!
I installed mine a couple of months ago. Not bad, Directions were very good. If you have any questions the customer service is excellent.
