Default Shocking secret revealed!

Now that the Civil War is over and the Ducks are no longer in danger, I can reveal a shocking secret. I know why the old Rogue river style drift boats were painted orange/black. That's right! Because old time guides Pritchett, Briggs, and others were BEAVER fans. I got this right from the scource...Steve Pritchett...son of the famous guide. All these years I assumed it was some sort of fall "camo" or something noble like that...but NO. Now I wonder, is that the reason that McKenzie style boats were traditionally painted green? I think I may be on to something here.

Straydog...are you out there? Shed some light on this mystery

Is that why the Sweet Home boats are colored "bondo" and the wheels on the trailers are two different sizes?

Wow.............. my brother has an old RR Special built by Squeek Briggs. (or whats left of it, it hasn't been cared for,) and it is Orange and Black!

I didn't realize this was the reason however I will talk to Jerry Briggs and try to learn more about this although your source is just as likely to be accurate.

It makes good sense when, as you point out, the McKenzies are green.

VERY interesting, I will try learn more. I always assumed my Brother kept his Orange and Black because he went to OSU right out of highschool in 1968. I bet he didn't realize why he had a boat in his school colors!?!?!
