Default Thanksgiving travel - be careful out there

It was quite a few years ago that I became aquainted with the fact that Thanksgiving is the number one day for travel in the US. I learned this little factoid in a very crowded airport on my way to a good friend's wedding. Boy, was the airport security guy at the xray machine impressed with my choice of wedding gifts, which I had packed in my carry-on luggage - 8" chef's knife and ceramic sharpening steel.

Be it by plane, train or automobile, be careful making your way to join your family and/friends for the holiday. We want to make sure you're around to post pics of fresh winter steel come December.

Actually, Thanksgiving day is pretty slow at the airport (and, yes, I will be there escorted by a smoked turkey for the troops).

Now, the day before Thanksgiving..........give yourself some extra time.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Yeah, really. I'll probably have to work, and I'm dreading it. And I won't have any smoked turkey to look forward to. :depressed:

And to those of you who will be traveling by car after dark-- Please remember to turn off your hi beams when you see approaching traffic.

Thanks, 1pump (who is still seeing blue dots after doing 300 miles on a 2-lane road last night)
