Default Cathlamet area springers ?

I friend of mine from Othello, Wa wants to drag his boat down and fish the cathlamet area. Anyone been there yet this year? I've never launched from that ramp, and know nothing about the area. He invited me to go, so I was looking for any info. somebody might have...

Thanks in advance.

When I was in that area in the Fall that looked like a gillnet town. At least at the marina. I bet its heating up down there or is going to very soon. Its a bummer the nets are going in tho.

The nets are in today from 5 AM to 9 PM ... next possible day is Thursday based on the results today. The test fishery, conducted Sunday, saw the best fishing in the Cathlamet area. I'd bet that's where the nets are.

The schedule and regulations for the nets have been posted several times. You should be able to find them with a search.

Because of the system this year, the best way to find out if the nets are in is to call the WDFW action number, hit 1 for "commercial" and then 2 for "Columbia River". There's only about 24 hours warning before each season opens.
