I found a new drug--
Every once and a while I get in the mood for country music.
I'm really liking Toby Keith! I try to turn it down, while I'm in the car, so people don't think I'm a hick, but man, when I'm driving home, crank it up, and sing along!
I just love this stuff!
(And then the next day, it's Brahms... )

Re: I found a new drug--
I love country music: ZZ Top, Credence, Tom Petty, Skykyrd...
Toby Keith has become my son's new religion; can't complain, it beats the hell out of that rap crap the neighbors listen to!

Re: I found a new drug--
If you think the new toby keith stuff is good you should listen to his older songs like. Aint much fun since I quit drinkin, Dream walkin, What I didnt know then, you shouldnt kiss me like this, Thats my house, and Shoulda been a cowboy. Now thoes are good songs. I think hes kinda lost his edge. But he's still good none the less. And dont worry Jen "It's alright to be a REDNECK"!

Something about Martina McBride does it for me, The way she sings and the way she looks.

Re: I found a new drug--
Theres a lot of good country music but IMHO Toby Keith is just out there for the money. Give me Brooks & Dunn, Reba, or near anyone. Not saying Keith hasn't had some good tunes but I love that bar doesn't get my vote. But for real music enjoyment just give me the blues......

Re: I found a new drug--
I really like his new song "I Love this Bar", it reminds me of a few I've been to in the past. Good video also..............

Re: I found a new drug--
Tanner is missing a golden oppertunity here. Good for you Jen. Country is good stuff. It's kinda like a discover card ya know. You get your dog back, your house back, your money back and your girlfriend/wife back. That is if you play country music backwards.

Re: I found a new drug--
It's rhapsody.net, or listen.com ... though rhapsody.com was kind of interesting, too.
It was a web site, selling music. It wasn't a drug. I didn't get high. Of course, I didn't inhale!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Oops, sorry about the tag there.
You oughta try inhaling. I got the service awhile back, and it's pretty good. You can listen to unlimited music for the monthly fee, and build CDs for 79 cents a track. Pretty good deal, and you get exactly what you want. My wife and daughter are going crazy.

Re: I found a new drug--
While we're on the subject, did anyone catch the Johnny Cash tribute on CMT???
Not too bad. Hank Jr. did a rendition of "Ring of Fire" that was verbatim Cash all the way, if you had heard it on the radio it would have been tough to tell it wasn't JC.
Jen it's good to, uh' "expand" your tastes now and then.
I love many kinds of music including country but the trouble with the PDX stations is the constant repetition of the top 40 stuff. You get absolutely sick of it real quick.
If you get a little bit East of here you start to pick up some good stations that play it all, new stuff to Patsy Cline etc. KORD and KWHT comes to mind, I think it's Walla Walla or Tri-Cities but of course, you don't get those stations so it's a moot point. :depressed:
I'm glad I'm moving back there again, I miss those songs!.........

Re: I found a new drug--
79 cents! I can get 2/3 of a beer with 79 cents!
Plenty of free, legal, live recordings available.
