Default Late Post...great time on Brownlee

It has taken way too long to post but figured I would do it anyway. My wife, daughter and I had a great 3 days on the Powder/Brownlee. We hit the weather perfect and there was no shortage of Crappie! This was one trip I wished I had a light set up for night fishing. When we arrived Thursday night the bite was incredible and just flat ran out of daylight. We got into a school of really nice sized White Crappie.
Each day produced all the fish I would ever want to fillet and the size is much better than back in June. Next year could really be a banner year if nothing happens to the population.
Had the pleasure of meeting Chumdoggy and it looks like they had a good weekend too.
Water was very low, as low as I have ever seen it in the fall but it did give me a chance to GPS some new spots for next year.

Givin' some love to the Crappie, this went back to grow up!

The Thursday night run back to the ramp in the dark.

Livewell starting to fill up!

Nice catch.
It is amazing how quick we lose daylight this time of the year and end coming back in the dark.

If your from Vancouver, get on the freeway and drive east to the Oregon/Idaho border. And yes they have tons of smallmouth and channel cats. Just Google Brownlee Resevoir.

You can also do a search here and find plenty of information to plan a trip around. Brownlee is one of 3 impoundments in that area so there is no shortage of water and even on a holiday there is plenty of open water for all.
My experience has been that the bigger bass tend to be more plentiful during pre-spawn and I have had great success as early as April over there.
