Help!! Donated smelt to the fish gods!!

Ok, on my last trip a couple of weeks ago, I donated the last 4 pounds or so of my frozen smelt to the fish gods.

I was sure, like so many other people, that we were still going to get that "main run" any day now, and, besides, springer fishing would be going great guns by now!

Well, NO, and NO!

Going to go out of Cathedral on Friday for another shot at sturgies. Does anyone have a few pounds of last year's smelt they'd like to give a poor man like me

Bummer TR...I'm in the same boat as you. I had about 20 bags and gave a good shot to an ifisher. Then awhile after I put most of the rest in the garbage on garbage day 'cause we were goin dippin' that day! Well, you can imagine how that turned out, about 3 1/2lbs for 3hrs. of hard dipping, it's been since fed to the sturgeon.

I have 3 bags left of the old stuff and I'm truly sorry but I must keep it for myself.

Try one of the larger Asian markets for a good deal on squid, I got a 3Lb. box at the market on about 65th and Sandy for $3.89, and it's probably fresher than the stuff in the bait coolers at Joe's or FMS.
