Default Yamaha outboards- water impeller change

I was thinking of changing out the impellers on my 2 outboards myself (w/ shop manual of course), but I am not too mechanically inclined.

Is this a hard job and should be left to the pros?

Cool Re: Yamaha outboards- water impeller change

Leave it to the pros , unless you like to learn as you go ...
It could get pretty spendy if you mess something up ...

Thanks for that web page. I have been trying to figure out the trick
on removing the retainer clip on the shaft. I had to pay an hr shop
time to get the tech to remove it. Now I know the trick. You use the
metal cover to pry off of ....to easy..

If a mechanic does the change he will inspect everything and pressure and vacuume test the unit as well.
