Is there a CPA out there that would like ???

Trade fishing trips for CPA work??? I know that this is out there however I have been getting the run around with the current CPA that I have been using for the last 3 years and I can no longer continue to pay 2 times the going rate for not even a phone call back from my CPA.

So is there a good CPA out there on IFISH? or do you have one that you would reccommend.

You can use the "UserList" button in the bar above, towards the right, to search for members that list their occupation as "CPA". There may be others, too. Good luck.

If you ask people who are in the same business who their CPA is, you will probably find one that has experience in the details relative to your business. The worst thing is to have to teach a CPA about your business and hope he understands the in's and out's. A CPA who is good in the lumber business, may not be the right guy for a fishing guide.

Thanks for the endorsement Corey. Its cellmates like you that make serving time worth it. I was going to invite you to go on my Springer trip with Mr. Jaurez, but now I'm having second thoughts. Got plans on 4/16?

I too am glad this thread was started. I'm looking for a new booky er, CPA myself. :grin: Someone who knows something about the charter industry. Anyone know who that may be?? Potential tuna trips of many wonders included in the offering. :tongue:

@$130 per hour with all your accounting, 1099's, tax returns, etc. I'd say you're going to be into your accountant (a competent one anyway) for a lot more trips than he/she might want to take.

If it were me, I'd bite the bullet and hire someone in Newport like Grimstad or VanBlockland. They are very familiar with the fishing/tourism industries and probably have many other charter clients.

Behind every small business success story you will find two things, entrepenurial spirit in the owner, and a great client/CPA relationship.
