Default Brian Setzer Shot in the Dark

Hey fellow ifishers! It's Ragnar coming to you all in a time of need. I've witnessed the constant out-pouring of compassion, good will and generosity on this site in the past and this time it's me that needs the help. I would not ask this of anyone if I did not feel it was very important.
Well, long story-short.... My ex-wife (yes ex-wife) and I are heading to Vegas in mid December to see The Brian Setzer Orchestra perform at the Hard Rock Hotel. We have the airline tickets and show tickets, but I'm trying to procure some backstage passes for the show.
The ex and I are making an effort to patch things up after some considerable time apart and her birthday will take place during the trip. I was thinking that this backstage pass idea would really be over the top for her and less cheesy than the 24 hr. Church of Elvis Wedding Chaple. Plus The fear of rejection s greatly reduced.
We've always enjoyed Brian's music and it has been a part of our relationship that bring out the good times we've had and hopefully yet to come (fingers crossed).
So I guess my question is.........Does anyone know someone in the entertainment business that could hook a brother-up? Or maybe have some Disc Jockey friends in Vegas who's radio station is sponsoring the event?
I would be forever in your debt.
If you only knew how much this woman means to me....... She is my everything. My reason for getting up in the morning
You can send me private message, if you'd like.
From one hopeless romantic to another...
Thanks
Ragnar

Ragnar! Absence makes the heart grow fonder! Hey, try contacting the musician directly and explaining that you're planning on popping the question (for the second time). Or contact the hotel directly and see what they might be able to do for you.

 When you told me what was going on back in August I was worried. Now I'm excited!

Ocean Blue,
I know I'm certainly at the point to where I could do that. I don't believe that she is at the point to where she could. There is a lot of stuff that needs to addressed before she could consider that. But hey! Who knows right?
Thanks Jen. I'll give it a try.

I'm sad to say no. She has to work late. Besides we have a movie date planned for the evening.
Have fun. Keep me in your thoughts. I can use all the "good mo-jo" I can get. Do they have coupons for that stuff?
By the way... I just sent off my petition to someone I hope is Brian Setzer. Or at least it was the "contact" email for his official website.
So, we'll have to wait and see...
Geez! Why does this whole thing make me want to  ? I can't eat. I can't sleep. I'm just a mess... Man. If this aint love? I don't know what is.

TTT. Thanks for the bump Keta and for your thoughts Ocean Blue.
I've been pulling out all the stops on this one.
No progress as of right now, but I'm still hoping.
I made the mistake of telling her what I've been trying to do and now the pressure is really on! She says she will completely understand if things don't work out in my quest and appreciates the thoughtfulness regardless of the out come. So let's all cross our fingers for the best (what ever that is).
Thanks folks. You're awesome!,

Rag...congrats on the renewed effort!

You might try contacting some of the radio stations to see if they might help you out. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

find out what station in vegas is sponsoring the event and tell them you need some help. I bet it would be a big hit with all the publicity junkies radio stations have.... good luck

Good luck in your quest Ragnar, hope it works out for you buddy. I seen Ted Nugent at the Hard Rock the Joint in 98 it was most awsome had to be the loudest concert I've been to. At that time the allowed cameras in so check with the venue about doing so.

I've actually tried contacting some of the local radio stations there in Vegas and have had no such luck. I spoke with one jock and he said that he didn't even know of Brian Setzer playing in Vegas until I informed him of it. How's that for "being up on current events?"
Does anyone know of anyone I can contact in Vegas that might have some insight as to who (radio staion) is sponsoring this event? The hotel itself was of no help at all.
Thank you all again. You're great people.
Peace, (Hey! I think it's snowing a little bit!)

Well my friends..... I am happy to say, that I have been informed today that the back stage passes are mine. To say it better... WE HAVE SUCCESS!
I'd like to thank you all who responded and those that didn't with your suggestions and helpful hints in my time of need.
I hope everything turns out well.
BEHOLD! THE POWER OF THE MO-JO!
Thanks one and all,

I should rename this post "Gift of the Maggi." you know the story of the poor young couple at Christmas time. Where she cuts-off and sells her hair so she can buy her husband a gold chain for his watch and he pawns his watch his father gave to him, so he can buy his wife silver combs for her hair? It's bitter-sweet to say the least.
Well, I have one that's pretty darn close and just in time for the holidays.....
Like I posted earlier, I got the backstage passes Friday. Saturday morning rolls around and she (the ex-wife) informs me that she doesn't think things are going to work out between us. Oh, happy days!
I then informed her of the backstage passes that I was keeping as a surprise (of course that didn't change mind and quite frankly would lead me to suspect if it did) and said "well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but what about Vegas?"
I have a lot of time, emotions and effort invested in this trip. So......
Long story-short, we're still going. Hopefully we can both still go and just enjoy the concert and all Vegas has to offer without things getting any weirder.
Geez! Talk about a long strange trip! Huh? And it's nowhere near being over......
Interesting, the lessons that are in store for us. Isn't it?
I sure do wish her the best. May God give her what she needs. I know I can't.
Perhaps there is something better (more ideal) waiting for me out there.
Well. Here's to the ladies. Such beautiful and wonderous creatures.

As the stomach turns,
Ragnar
