Zolatone Where to get it
I need to touch up some spots on my boat. Where do you get Zolatone? Would auto paint stores sell this stuff? I don't need much just need to touch up some high traffic spots and where I had some welding done. Thanks for any help

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
I ended up having to buy some online and having it shipped in. Couldn't find it in the Seattle area anyhow. I think it was from TCP Global, and it came pretty quickly.

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
Your local Automotive Paint and Refinish Supply store should have it.
Here in Vancouver it's Industrial Finishes.

Hey Chuck,
How is the Zolotone applied? Special gun? Available at the same supplier?

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
I worked at a NAPA auto parts store when I was younger and we sold it there. If your local store sells paint then they can probably get you what you need. As for application, you just spray it with a paint gun like any other automotive paint.

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
Not sure about your boat but northriver has several steps to their zolatone first a gray base then a two color mixed base then the speckle stuff followed by a clear coat. just had a top made for my 20 footer and tried to match it still was a little off but pretty close.

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
zolatone makes a spray can type applicator that covers if memory serves 9 ft sq, very reasonable, disposable and no stuff to buy or rent.

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
Google "Spra-tool" for a disposable applicator.

Re: Zolatone Where to get it
Avoid the spray can applicators. Due to the viscocity and sand particles in Zolatone, the applicator (and spray can pressure) were not designed for this type of product. Even tried the larger applicator...still clogged beyond use. Ideally you need a gun with compressor.

Looie, from Gib Young's?
To answer your question a spray gun is best nothing special as far as the gun goes, but you should have a rather large nozzle or it will clog.
Sorry I can't give you a nozzle size, it's been too many years since I've sold paint supplies.

The Spra-tool I mentioned is recommended by the website of the primary distributor of Zolatone.
