The idea is to deal with the addiction, not feed it.

Common HappyBrew, ya know ya want it.. Come on, Come on.. Just one little debate won't hurt.. Come on, you can get back on the wagon tomorrow.
How about if we just propose to Jenny to have a Polital Thread only forum. You could be like Nicholas Cage in the movie Leaving Las Vegas. That's the one where he is an alcoholic and decides he is just going to drink himself to death. You could just enjoy your vice to the end.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Get it right Mel, its the WWE. The WWF is the world wildlife federation, an environmental tree hugger type group.
Not Brions house please. It's been booby traped for conservatives and the cemetary is directly behind his house.

Re: 1st Politics 12-step Meeting!
Tanner, I knew I liked you for some reason. Sounds good, that way I can ignore it and just read the good stuff on the LIG board.
The new Politics In General (PIG)  board would be a great idea. PIG, I like it.
Then you could start a support group call Blowhards Anonomys.<grin>

Re: 1st Politics 12-step Meeting!
Hi. My name is Doug, and I'm a politics addict. I was raised in a home where politics were often discussed. My mom would often expound her political views to anyone who would hear. I became an addict in high school, when my history teacher continually discussed JFK and Reagan. I ended up joining the speech and debate team. Yes, that's right... my high school teacher was my pusher! I ended up being disciplined for holding a pro-nuclear rally with other students in the math department of my high school.
Things got worse when I was in college. Everywhere I went, I was surrounded by political debate. I couldn't resist. It even got to the point where my social life suffered because of my addiction to politics. The sorority girls were so empty headed and lacking in ideology that they held no appeal for me, but the feminists only aggravated me. I thus found it very difficult to find a date, and when I did find acceptable female company for the evening, I only ended up alienating them by slamming on the liberals.
My addiction got so bad that I deliberatly took a class in Social and Political Philosophy from a professor who was a card carrying member of the Communist Party (really!) just so I could sit in the front row every day with my short hair cut, U.S. Army Combat Medic tee-shirt (my wife says I looked hot in that shirt!) and combat boots and argue with everything he said. I got an A in the class. My addiction got so bad that one of my philosophy professors even went so far as to exclaim "Oh no! Not you again!" when he saw me sitting in the front row on the first day of classes.
I have even attempted to argue with those who agree with me. Yes, I am an addict, but, to quote Red Green, "I can change... if I have to.... I guess."

Okay, who else wants to go?

Yeah, LS, that's what we all said. You're in denial. I think you need an intervention.

Re: 1st Politics 12-step Meeting!
Hello; I'm Steve and I'm a Republican. Well, not yet, but I'm saving up to become one. I don't want to be a liberal, cuz it's not my job to support everyone else. I don't want to be a conservative, cuz I don't want to rip anybody off. Can't be a Greenie; I like cuttin'down trees. Not Libertarian, don't want all the dope legalized... I know, I'm starting my own political party, the Steviecrats! Our platform will consist of: watching the arguments on LIG, having no comment, falling asleep... except the Steviecrats sounds like a really crappy Motown group, sooooo... uh, nevermind.
