Default Any ideas for trout fishing in the metro area?

We are thinking about trying Hagg on Tuesday (29th). Going to try some bank fishing for trout with our kids (don't worry, they're homeschooled and can make it up on Saturday). Looking for advice or suggestions about any other westside areas that might produce.

We fished Hagg today, the swimming was a bit better than the fishing. The best action we had was near the dam on the north side casting spinners. Did not see many caught, the bite died about 10:30.

If your kids are under 17 yrs, you might check out the threads on Canby Pond (8 miles south of Oregon City) in the Canby Community Park.

There are also a couple of more recent threads on current stocking by ODWF

How'd it go today?

I fished Hagg along with my dad, bro in law, and sister on Sunday. Dad and I caught the only fish - I landed two, he hooked up with five and landed one. Smallest was around 12 inches, I got the biggest of the bunch which was around 15 inches. The smallest fish came to a trolled #7 flatfish, the others came to worm fished on bottom from the bank.

The two larger fish had nice firm, pink flesh when I filleted them. The smaller fish had white flesh When I got the skin off, it looked like an anorexic catfish fillet.

Those white fleshed ones would be the newly stocked fish they just planted. I was there Sunday too. You had better luck than we did. We didn't catch a thing. Anyway, it's great you got to go fish with family.
