Default 8 hp yamaha question

A great motor but one question...the tension nut which controls swivel of motor keeps coming loose..seems like I have to tighten it daily..anyone have a solution to this???

Blue loctite or buy a new pinch nut and replace it ...

I had the same problem. It appeared that the bolt was just a little short to grip the lock nut. I turned the lock nut downside-up and haven't had a problem since. It is also a good idea to blue loktite the small bolts that hold the clutch assembly on as they have a habit of loosening themselves. My original is sleeping with the fishes at Drano.
